Whilst this training won’t be about how to create digital products from scratch, it is still beginner-friendly. 

Tripwires can actually be one of the easiest ways to sell digital products when you first get started.

Therefore, tripwires are a great way for digital product beginners to start monetising and seeing results.

Not at all. This strategy will help you to make money from new email sign ups and therefore the size of your existing email list is irrelevant. 

However, the more eyes you can get on your lead magnet, the faster your list will grow and the more money you will make with your tripwires.

You should only need to make a couple of tripwire sales in order to earn your money back. 

For example, if 10% of people who see your tripwire purchase it and you sell it for $20, you will be earning an average of $2 per new subscriber. By the time you have acquired around 25 new subscribers or made 3 sales, you’ve made your money back!

This depends on how many people join your email list via your lead magnets.

If 5-10% of your audience purchase your tripwire, you will start to see sales by the time you’ve reached 10-20 new subscribers. And if you get 10-20 new subscribers every day then you might start to see daily tripwire sales. 

This training was originally delivered as a 2 hour live workshop. Since then, it has been broken up into manageable bite-sized lessons you can dip in and out of with both video and text based lessons to suit both types of learner. 

There are also tech walkthrough videos for a number of different tools suitable for different budgets. 

You will need a way to take payment for the product but aside from that, there are free tools you can use such as countdown timer plugins and free page builders.

Would a fashion retailer feel weird about asking for money for a new shirt even if it was your first time shopping there?!

Tripwires don’t have to feel salesy or sleazy.

They are as much an opportunity for your reader to get a solution to a problem at a bargain price as they are for you to earn some passive income.

They are also a chance for them to sample your lower cost products before they reach a more expensive offer inside your email funnel helping them to make more informed purchase decisions. 

So stop feeling icky about selling and remember you are a business and your skills and knowledge are worth paying for. Instead focus on delivering a too-good-to-miss offer and blow them away with how much value is packed inside. 

If you have a digital product created already, you can have your first tripwire up and running within an hour or two by repurposing your sales page. If you are new to tripwires, it make take you a little longer but you can certainly have the tech &  sales page created within a day even as a newbie.
